Pain Management
"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." – Haruki Murakami
Living with pain can feel overwhelming and isolating, yet pain is not just a physical experience—it’s deeply connected to our emotions and mind. When chronic pain takes over, it can impact every aspect of life, from sleep and mobility to mood and relationships. But pain isn’t solely a signal from your body; it’s a complex message processed by your brain. For those with chronic pain, the brain can become oversensitive to these signals, amplifying them even after the initial cause has healed. This cycle often leads to frustration, stress, and feelings of helplessness.
Hypnotherapy offers a gentle and empowering way to manage pain by addressing both the mind and body. Unlike medication, which only treats symptoms, hypnosis delves into the subconscious to change how your mind interprets pain signals. Using methods such as guided relaxation and visualisation, I help clients regain a sense of control and reduce the intensity of their pain.
Incorporating elements of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), my sessions focus on reframing beliefs, replacing discomfort and rewiring your sensitivity to pain and learning how to manage it.
